The 21-year-old from Latrobe was crowned the competition's best player on Friday, polling 19 votes to win from North Melbourne AFLW duo Nicole Bresnehan [13 votes] and Daria Bannister [10] after another dominant year for Glenorchy.
Finishing ahead of that duo, as well as winning an award which players who have spent time on an AFLW list [Bannister and Maddison Smith] have in their collection has helped relight a spark in her after being overlooked in the AFLW draft earlier this month.
Skinner also took out the goal kicking award with 18 goals [one ahead of Clarence's Jessie Williams], having started her year as a forward who went into the midfield and ending it as a midfielder who spent time resting forward.
"In the best and fairest there are a couple of AFLW listed players there, so it does boost my confidence up after being disheartened after the draft,'' she said on Friday.
But she has some bigger fish to fry, with Glenorchy to face Launceston in Saturday's TSLW grand final, with Skinner aiming for her second flag with the Magpies after being part of the 2018 triumph.
Glenorchy has won both its contests against the Blues this year and while Skinner said her side would enter the contest confident, they would be very wary.
