Skipper Jobi Harper entered the Blues' final-round bye three votes ahead of Tiger Kieran Lovell in the State League's player of the year award - requiring a best-on-ground finish from the former Hawk to tie.
However, The Examiner understands Harper has taken the award outright, while teammate Dylan Riley won the Peter Hudson Medal for leading goalkicker by 13 majors.
Coach Mitch Thorp, who has led the duo at a variety of clubs, said Harper's recognition is a result of years of hard work.

"I've been fortunate to play quite a bit of footy with Jobi and he's always played at a really high level," he said.
"Everything he does on a footy field isn't by chance - he's an incredibly hard worker, he's the captain of our team and he wins our time trials so he works particularly hard and he is hard to play on.
"He gets tagged most weeks and fully deserves the recognition for an outstanding season."
For Riley, who has committed to the Blues for another two seasons, it's his amazing versatility that astounds Thorp.
"[Dylan is] another player that I've been fortunate enough to play with and coach for a long period of time and he really is a superstar - he's probably in career-best form, now as a permanent forward.
"He's won a best and fairest at State League level as a half-back flanker, he's won another best and fairest as a midfielder and now he's won the Hudson Medal as a full forward.
"I don't think there's been another player in the comp that's been able to play all three parts of the ground as well as he has - he's a super talent."
Ahead of Launceston's home semi-final clash against Lauderdale on Saturday, Thorp is hopeful his stars can run rampant.
"They are both aspirational young men that just want to continue playing at the highest level they can and both are super teammates and very coach-able."
