A 41-year-old man from Exeter will face the Launceston Magistrates Court in November in relation to a crash with a parked car on the West Tamar Highway at Trevallyn.

Tasmania Police said the man was charged by summons with exceeding 0.05 and failing to comply with the duties of a driver involved in a crash.
The crash occurred about 2.30am on May 29 when the man's car travelling north crashed into the 1995 Mercedes Benz car parked on the left hand side of the highway.

The impact moved the 1995 Mercedes about 20 metres along the highway and stove in the rear end making it undriveable.
In June, The Examiner reported that the man left the scene of the crash and was later treated at the Launceston General Hospital.
Tasmania Police said he did not leave the crash scene in an ambulance and confirmed that a blood sample was taken from the man at the LGH.
Under the Traffic Act 1925 a driver who is involved in a crash must (a) stop immediately; and (b) stay at the scene of the crash; and (c) give any assistance which may be necessary or practicable in the circumstances and which it is in the driver's power to give.
"The driver is not guilty of an offence under this section if he or she leaves the scene of the crash solely for the purposes of seeking medical, police or other emergency assistance in connection with the crash," the Act says .
