Provisional driver caught 60km/h over limit
Police detected a provisional driver more than 60km/h above speed limit on Midlands Highway on Monday.

Police said they were conducting speed detection duties near Symmons Plains about 5pm when a Holden Commodore sedan travelling at 176km/h in the 110km/h zone was recorded.
In other news:
A Devonport man, 22, was fined $989 and six demerit points and was disqualified from driving for four months.
"I urge all drivers to think before they put their foot down and put themselves and others at risk," said Senior Constable Leigh Casboult.
