New owner Richard Welsh bought the rights last month to the event after it stalled last year and was abandoned.
The passionate, one-time middle-distance runner still remains committed to delivering a festival that includes the Launceston 10 and a new half-marathon race in June.

"We'll continue to monitor the event landscape in the coming weeks before making any major decisions," Welsh said from New York, observing its annual half-marathon.
"There's a number of factors to consider for any event to cancel or postpone and for us at present there is no need to panic, we can hold off for a few weeks yet and see what the advice is then.
"I've watched event after event get postponed or cancelled this week around the world and many have made multiple decisions on the same day. So for now we will remain patient and keep all options open."
