It was an exciting day for Brazilian man Gabriele Ruggi Neto, who at Wednesday's citizenship ceremony joined his wife Nicolle Falco as an Australian citizen.
Mr Neto was one of 99 conferees at the City of Launceston's ceremony on Wednesday.
"I'm so excited, so happy to be an Aussie," he said.
The duo have lived in Australia for seven years, and moved to Launceston about three years ago.
They made the move from Brazil as Ms Falco had been offered a good job opportunity.
"Because we are migrants, we know how important it is to have a great job opportunity," Mr Neto said.
"We moved for her to grow in her career and it was a pretty good decision I'd say."
Ms Falco said Australia was amazing. She became an Australian citizenship at the City of Launceston citizenship ceremony in July.
"I just couldn't wait," she said.
"Australians have no idea how lucky they they are. It's fair, it's safe, and it really made us want to move and become Australian citizens."
"Especially in Tassie," Mr Neto added. "It's fantastic. At first we were living in Launceston so we weren't sure about moving to Tassie, but now we know that Tassie is an amazing place."
Mr Neto said his favourite part about living in Launceston was the nature.
"It's so rich here. We have the Gorge like five minutes away from home, it's gorgeous. So that's the best part," he said.
"Everything is beautiful here, it's lovely."
