The eight-stage Tour of the Great South Coast runs from Mount Gambier in South Australia, to Portland, Victoria, and includes a mix of road races, criteriums and a team time trial..
It began on Tuesday with a 36-kilometre criterium followed by a 65km road race and finishes with a 48km criterium on Sunday.
The Tasmanian riders are spread across five teams.
Hobart pair Ben Van Dam and former mountain bike specialist Kaine Cannan are both representing Team BridgeLane while the Campolina Racing and Breeding team includes Launceston's Josh Duffy and Daniel Di Domenico, of Hobart.
Smithton's Iven Bennett is among the Butterfields-Appselec p/b Van D'am Racing team while the event also represents the latest stepping stone in the promising road careers of two bright Launceston talents.
Zach Johnson (Drapac Cannondale Holistic development) and Zack Gilmore (Pro Racing Sunshine Coast ACA) both qualify for the young riders' classification with Johnson among those sitting joint third after the opening stage.
