Stage Right Youth Theatre's Tarzan production almost has enough students involved to make its own school, but these budding performers, aged between 8 and 18 years, have not missed their lessons in vain.
Director Danny Gibson said the actors from primary school through to college had shared the learning experience.
"You see that role modelling and it's been an opportunity to mentor for performers who have been coming for a number of years," Mr Gibson said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The group has become close during the 10 weeks of production, with the musical score encouraging "a bit of exposure" to Phil Collins.
Tarzan leads Connor O'Sign, 16, and Meg Chapman, 14, said they enjoyed experimenting with their characters.
"Not only does [Tarzan] portray a gorilla type, but he also portrays being a man, swinging through the jungle and being very physically active... It's been quite an incredible experience," Connor said.
"I'm 14 years old, so I'm younger than most of the other lead cast and it's been amazing to look up to them and see how they do things and learn from Claire and Temiya and Connor," Meg said.
This production is the Tasmanian premiere for Tarzan.
