So far between 5-10 mm of rain has fallen across the North with a maximum of 20 mm recorded in elevated areas in the North West.
BOM has predicted that between 20-50 mm will fall in the North and North West through late Saturday and early Sunday, with a further 80 -100 mm falling in elevated areas such as the North West Tiers.

This has resulted in a flood watch being issued for all Northern regions, with river rises expected as well as minor flooding in various catchments.
These include the North and South Esk rivers as well as the Launceston end of the Tamar River.
A minor flood warning has been issued for the Mersey River around Kimberley and Latrobe for Sunday morning.
