Boxing Tasmania has been sensationally reduced to a rogue organisation split from its parent national body that could threaten to reduce the legitimacy of future fights.

The latest shock revelation comes after the peak body for the sport in the state failed to lodge its financial returns for both 2017 and 2018.
The Tasmanian Department of Justice, Consumer Affairs and Fair Trading has deregistered Boxing Tasmania over its inactivity.
As a consequence, Boxing Tasmania Incorporated is no longer a member association of Boxing Australia.
Members of the defunct organisation will be made aware that Boxing Australia's insurance no longer covers them from injury that could prevent boxers from stepping in the ring to take on fights.
"In these circumstances, the Board of Boxing Australia has resolved to establish a new incorporated association in Tasmania as soon as possible to promote, develop and conduct amateur boxing in Tasmania," a statement from Boxing Tasmania read.
"It is anticipated that following the incorporation of the new organisation, the Board of Boxing Australia will move a motion at the 2019 Annual General Meeting of Boxing Australia that the new association immediately become a member association of Boxing Australia."
Boxing Tasmania are yet to inform members on its website or Facebook page.
O'Callaghan Boxing Gym, one of the 11 registered clubs in the state, has registered its a 14-bout card on Saturday night in Penguin with Boxing Australia and will go ahead.
