Angela Dickson's charges were forced to fight back from a seven-point half-time deficit to secure a 6.9 (45) to 5.2 (32) victory over the Roos.
"I think we just started a bit flat and the girls took a lot longer to get into the game that we usually do," she said.
"Clarence got the jump on us and it took us a half to really get back the play and our game-style and structures."
Launceston edged ahead in the third quarter on the back of a three-goal effort.
But 12 shots on goal to two in the second half made the Blues work for a seventh win.

But Bombers coach Dean Smith was far from thrilled.
"All we can take out of it is we came down and got away with four points," he said.
"Kingborough played really well. They shut down our run and we knew after their result with Clarence we were going to be up for a fight."
Tigers put a scare through the rookies, hitting the front twice in a teetering match.
But two final-quarter goals after 31 inside 50s entries to 16 set up a 4-3 season record.
