The spate of damage included offenders repeatedly reversing a white dual-cab utility into Mowbray businesses, and driving through wire fencing at Brooks High School.
Detective Senior Sergeant John Parker with the Launceston CIB said that there were seven incidents in total, all believed to be linked.
They suspect that up to four offenders were involved, including at least one woman of thin build.
Two vehicles were involved in the spree, a 1989 white Mitsubishi Triton dual cab that had been stolen from Punchbowl, and a small blue sedan.
The spate of attempted burglaries began at 2.05am, when the front door of Kings Meadows News and Lotto was smashed in.
The offenders were unable to enter.
At IGA Supermarket, Perth, the front door was jimmied at about 2.25am. The offenders also attempted to smash the glass, but again were unsuccessful in their attempts to get inside.
At 2.30am, offenders broke in to the Evandale Post Office, by forcing entry to the front door.
It is understood that nothing was stolen.
They rummaged around inside and then left "fairly quickly", police said.
At about 2.49am, a white dual cab utility was repeatedly reversed into the front doors of Cellarbrations Mowbray.
"Significant damage" was caused to a roller door and glass window, police said.
Then, at about 2.51am, offenders attempted to gain entry to the Mowbray Newsagency in the same manner.
They drove the white utility in to the front of the premises, causing "significant" damage to the front doors and windows.
A similar vehicle was seen at United Service Station at 4 Golconda Road, Lilydale, between 3am and 3.15am, with CCTV capturing the offenders preparing to ram the front of the premises in the white ute, but then driving off.
Lastly, the white utility was driven through Brooks High School from George Town Road, and out through a wire fence on Goya Road, Newnham, at about 3.30am.
Detective Senior Sergeant Parker said that if anyone has knowledge about these crimes, or the people who committed them, to please contact Launceston CIB on 6777 3910, or report anonymously to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or crimestopperstas.com.au.
