President of the club Gary Saunders said it had been a long and great time for the club.
“We’re looking forward to all the players from all the eras to come back and tell their stories and catch up,” he said.
“70 years is a long time; we’ve had a lot of characters and a lot of players and a lot of good times and that’s what we want to hear.”
It’s a great opportunity for them to learn off what the older guys used to do and give them something to strive for in the future. To be able to build that same sort of relationship with their club and hopefully in the years to come share triumphs as well. As well as celebrating the storied club, they will be inducting five new members, both players and administrators, into the club’s hall of fame.
Current coach of the Riverside Cricket Club Lyndon Stubbs said it was not only a chance for players to learn from their elders, but for the younger players to teach them new tricks.
“It’s a great opportunity for them to learn off what the older guys used to do and give them something to strive for in the future,” Stubbs said.

Former player and current chief executive officer of the Tasmanian Turf Club Peter Scott said the night will allow for the club to reminisce on many fun stories from the club’s history.
“It’ll be good integrating past players with current players so they get a sense of what came before them,” he said.
The celebrations will be from 7pm at the Tamar Function Centre at Windsor Park.
