The climax of the showjumping season, the championships will feature rings prepared by mainland and Tasmanian course designers and obstacles ranging from 70cm up to 1.3m.
The event is held in the North once every four years, with this year’s instalment to be hosted by Jumping Tasmania’s Northern branch.
Committee member Bonnie Hall encouraged spectators to come and witness some of the state’s best riders in action.
“Some of our Northern riders in contention are Jo Geard, Elsie Richards, local junior rider Adele Rechberger and Michaela Van Rooye,” Hall said.
“Those people have all had a competitive season so far so they’ll be in hot contention in the championship classes.”
Competition will start at 9am on both Saturday and Sunday, and is expected to wrap up by mid-to-late afternoon. Entry is free.
