The deli had been operating for nine years, serving locals a range of fine foods and ingredients.
“We’re coming to the end of our tether,” Delicacy owner John Fahey said.
He believed there will be stiff competition between local delis and supermarkets going forward.
“The supermarkets have really lifted their game in their product range, they’re now ranging a lot of things they would never have even dreamt of ranging,” Mr Fahey said.
“There’s room for them [delicatessens] providing they get well patronised by the local people. But if everyone wants to keep going and chasing the supermarket delis like this are not gonna survive.”
Mr Fahey appreciated the loyalty of customers over the years.
“To everyone that supported us and patronised us thanks very very much and we’ll see them around sometime,” Mr Fahey said.
