Worker, 26, is on the waiting list for a heart transplant, and is in the Intensive Care Unit at a Melbourne Hospital – but he still saw the community rallying to support him, friend and event organiser Eliot McCann said.
“He was able to Skype in from his bedside, and he was waving at everyone and giving us all the thumbs up,” he said.
“I was able to stream some of the performances for him, and he got to see some of the event which he said made him feel quite emotional.”
The money raised came from the door raffle, with sizable donations from local businesses, and band Halfway to Forth also donated half the proceeds from their album sales
There will also be a raffle at the Bridport Hotel this Friday, and a second music event on September 15, with funds raised going to Worker’s family.
