A great field will lineup over the testing 720 metres with a host of winning chances engaged.
Pre-race favourite Bobby Bound (box one) will aim to make it his second feature-race victory of the year, following a dead-heat to Rosie Oh Rosie in the prelude last week.
Owned, bred and trained by Robin Stocks at Risdon Vale, the son of Decembrist has a career record that stands at 21 wins and 40 minor placings from 99 race appearances.
Vrontios, prepared by Kevin McConnon, has notched up three wins on the track and is looking to recapture previous winning form after running a solid fourth to Bobby Bound, beaten by 4 ½ lengths.
Bobby Bound is noted for poor box manners but can find the line strongly while Vrontios (8), Wynburn Lucifer (4) and Times A Bonus (3) should also be considered in the mix.
Last week’s Launceston meeting saw leading trainer Ted Medhurst land a treble with St Jenson, Cosmicly Baroque and Abbey’s Banjo.
It was also a good night for owner Karlene Cuthbertson who got a double with Fasika and Willie Win.
Nicholas Howard was also a multiple winner, training a double with Apache Dream and Gambler’s Loot.
There is a $1000 first-four jackpot with Ubet on all races.
