The Redlegs’ annual rivalry cup game with Longford will see the home side kitted out in one-off guernseys in an effort to raise $10,000 for prostate cancer.
The celebrations will be compounded by Burling’s milestone, which he will bring up against the club he played junior football for until moving to Bracknell in 2005.
“It’s a good family club, I would have liked to have had a couple of flags to go with it but that’s sport,” Burling said.
“A lot of people keep saying I’ve got years left in me, but the body says differently from time to time.”
Burling has played nine games for a return of eight goals this season, and credits former teammates Josh Adams and Josh Nunn for his longevity and success.
“They have a been a big support through my career, especially seniors.
“To play alongside and to learn from those two is pretty phenomenal, they’re both different footballers in their own right but legends of the game.”
Function committee member Claire Maxwell said prostate cancer was a cause close to Bracknell’s heart.
“One of our life members has been through prostate cancer so I wanted bring it to light how important it is to men,” Maxwell said.
“About 3000 men die every year from prostate cancer, and more men die from it than women of breast cancer.
“I don’t want to lose any of the boys to it and it’s very important and close to the Bracknell Football Club.”
