The home side for this Sunday’s encounter with the Hawks requested to move forward the fixture a month.
Tuohy’s side, along with Silverdome co-tenants Cavaliers, were scheduled to have a rest this weekend.
That would have meant just one game in a 27-day period for the Hawks after all State League sides did not play during the Collingwood and Tasmanian Magpies’ recent visit to Launceston.
Tuohy said Devon’s switch over player availability next month has perfectly set up their northern rival’s season.
“That’s why we looked to have it this weekend because it gives us more consistency,” Tuohy said.
“So by the time it gets to the middle of July, we’ll be ready to have a nice little break and reassess, and to build towards finals.
“I think the ability to play this weekend will be good especially coming off the back of our game last week.
“Another break definitely wouldn’t have suited us.”
The move has forced Tuohy to hold a recovery pool session on Monday instead of more drills on the court.
Danni Pickett and Kate von Steglitz will both miss the clash against Devon.
