The annual multi-sport challenge challenges individuals and teams to complete more than 160km of kayaking, cycling, mountain biking and trail running over two days in the dream surroundings of Freycinet National Park.
A weekend package at MONA was announced as the showcase prize at the event’s launch on Thursday night, with the winner to be drawn from all entries made before June 29.
Co-organiser Louise Padgett said changes made to the course last year had been well-received, and encouraged teams to get in and have a go.
“We’re really hoping that more businesses jump on board because the event caters for everyone,” Padgett said.
“It’s great to watch the elite battle it out, but it’s also great to have your mates go away for a weekend and do a fun event.
“It’s also great to have your workmates come and challenge each other so you can review and chat about it for the following couple of months.”
The Freycinet Challenge will take place on October 6 and 7.
