The Magpies did everything right early but kept the Swans in the fight with inaccurate finishing, kicking 4.7 to 1.4 in the first term.
The visitors held onto their lead at every break with Zach Iles, Jordan Furley and Nathan Madden leading the charge, but could not hold last year’s runners-up in the final term.
Michael Murfet was everywhere up forward, kicking six goals and making Nick Child (three) play second fiddle.

LILYDALE kept Meander Valley to fewer than 20 points for the second week in a row, moving into the top five with a 19.18 (132) to 2.7 (19) victory. Trent Griggs, Levi Tuthill and Billy Tuckerman (five goals) all starred for the Demons, while Simon Dingemanse and Daniel Connell carried the load for the Suns.
EVANDALE handed OLs their biggest loss of the season on Friday night.
Jordan Harris, Tom Chugg and Damien Wrankmore all kicked three as the Country Eagles strengthened their grip on second with an 11.10 (76) to 2.13 (25) win.
