Senator Di Natale is facing calls to step down as Greens’ leader in the wake of the party’s loss in the Batman by-election.
However, a spokesman for Senator McKim said on Tuesday: “Nick is not being pressured to take over.”
He would not elaborate further.
Senator McKim replaced former Australian Greens leader Christine Milne in the Senate in August 2015.
He was a member of the Tasmanian House of Assembly from 2002 and Tasmanian Greens leader from 2008.
Senator McKim was also a minister in the Labor governments of David Bartlett and Lara Giddings.
