Coming up against fellow division 1 regional champions St Patrick’s College and Burnie High School, Sacred Heart won through to the grand final and made light work of St Patrick’s, running out 58-23 winners.
The division 2 round robin competition was taken out by Riverside High School, with Southerners MacKillop College finishing second and Ulverstone High School third.
Hawthorn Tasmania corporate sales and sponsorship executive Tristan Hall said competition was as fierce as ever between the teams.
“Today was the best high school netball clubs in Tasmania so it’s a really high standard,” Hall said.
“It’s a great level of competition and we had some really close games.”
The netball competition will be followed by the Tassie Hawks Football Shield, which will take place at UTAS Stadium on Wednesday.
Last year’s grand finalists St Virgil’s College and Kings Meadows High School have again qualified for the shield, with Ulverstone High School rounding out the tri-series.
The day kicks off at 10.30am with the grand final to take place at 1.45pm.
