Giant Steps principal Tim Chugg said he was extremely grateful to the Tasmanian community and the Rotary Club for their support.
“The new sensory gym area has been installed in our existing indoor gym and forms part of our occupational therapy program,” Mr Chugg said.
“The gym is fantastic, it involves swings and other activities vital for the therapy and development of our students. The project brings immeasurable benefits to our students and is great addition to the program.”
Craft Fair director Tim Biggs said the event’s primary purpose was to raise funds to give to the community.
“It’s great that the efforts of volunteers can give so much benefit to the children at Giant Steps,” he said.
Established in 1995, Giant Steps Tasmania was started by a group of dedicated parents and local community supporters who were committed to ensuring focused and specialised education to suit the individualised needs of children with Autism Spectrum Challenges.
Mr Chugg said the support of Deloraine and the Meander Valley community was an important factor in the success of Giant Steps.
