A mix of families and curious onlookers gathered for the free outdoor concert, which included such favourites as My Island Home and Still Call Australia Home. Tour director Hayley Hawksford said they wanted to make sure the last leg of their national journey was special.
“Cataract Gorge is an incredible stage to play on,” she said.
“This is the first time in Launceston for a lot of the girls, so it’s amazing to perform here first.
“We head to Hobart after this, where we will finish the tour.”
As well as their free concert at the gorge, the girls will also be doing a joint public performance with the Greater Launceston Youth Singers and Launceston Church Grammar School at Launceston Church Grammar School from 3.30-4.30pm on Sunday.
Choir member Millie Scott, 14, said the group always “enjoyed getting to see people’s reactions.”
