The 18-year-old year 12 student won the competition from 39 other finalists and a total of 150 entries this year.
Nike's juxtaposition of images was a standout for the independent judges, who both selected him as the clear winner of the annual student competition.
Second place was won by year 11 Grammar student Ashlea Mawer and third by year 11 Launceston College student Corey Hyland.
Entrants had to photograph different subjects such as green, cold, disguise and domestic as creatively as they liked, with many choosing to incorporate an added theme, such as a recurring object.
Competition coordinator Paul Snell, who is also the school's head of art, said it was always interesting for the judges, as the ideas the students came up with were diverse.
"Both judges each chose their top five before collaborating to come up with the winners," Mr Snell said.
"This year and last, they've both chosen the clear winner and with the second and third places there was some discussion over scores."
Each of the winners won a digital SLR camera thanks to the WD Booth Charitable Trust.
The images can be viewed at www.snapentries.com.au or visit the exhibition at Grammar's Poimena Gallery until August 9.
