According to a report released yesterday, it is tougher than ever to land a job with the state service - but particularly so for recent graduates.
Employment options have halved -- from 3581 job advertisements in 2008-09 to 1627 last financial year.
Of the 1368 permanent vacancies that were filled across all government agencies only 120, or 9 per cent, were filled by people working outside the state service.
Inside the state service those aged under 25 are also decreasing with that age group comprising 2.85 per cent of the public sector workforce in June?ntsa?2012?nte, down from 4.47 per cent six years ago.
