The only difference is Mr Hart is this time looking to regain his job, while Ms Archer is looking to keep hers.
The debate, hosted by The Examiner and the Launceston Chamber of Commerce, will be held at Country Club Tasmania on Thursday, May 12 from 6.15pm.
What are the biggest issues facing Bass voters at this federal election? What are candidates' plans for our region? How will they achieve these goals?
Editor Corey Martin, who will act as moderator, said the debate would be a chance to hear from the two major-party candidates on what their vision was for Bass.
"We know Bass is a marginal seat and voters are unforgiving on candidates they don't think are truly representing them," he said.
"There are many challenges facing Northern Tasmanian that require strong and proactive leadership."
Chief executive Will Cassidy said the Launceston Chamber of Commerce is proud to co-host the debate.
"We want to give Launceston business owners and residents the opportunity to submit the questions they'd like to see answered by both candidates," he said.
"The chamber are proud supporters of the Northern Tasmania Priority Projects Report and City Heart Stage 2. Clearly, there is a lot of work to be done in the electorate of Bass and the candidates vision for the future of our region is important."
Candidates each give an opening three-minute address before participating in a Q&A canvassing the economy, health, education, environment, social wellbeing, local issues, and leadership issues. Answers will be capped at two minutes per candidate throughout the 90-minute debate, while both to finish the night with a short closing address.
A coin toss will be carried out 15 minutes before start time to determine who will make the first opening statement. The candidate who makes the first opening statement will also make the first closing statement.
Tickets are free, however, people register by scanning the QR code above or visiting launcestontickets.com.au.
