The Tasmanian climate has been the greatest adversary for the Greater Northern Raiders of late, but coach Tim Coyle is pleased how well his team has weathered the storm.

With one win, two draws and one loss, the Raiders sit second on the Cricket Tasmania Premier League ladder behind Kingborough, level on points with North Hobart.
Coyle was looking on the bright side as he reflected on Saturday's draw at Lindisfarne.
"We cannot really control the weather so we're just looking for small wins and I thought on Saturday that we got that on a number of fronts," he said.
"With a two-day game reduced to 112 overs it's difficult to manufacture results so, batting first, we wanted to make sure we controlled the game with the bat which has not been our strength over the last few years so it was good to see us do that.
"To get to 260-odd gives us a lot of confidence moving forward."
The sixth-wicket partnership of Alex Wynwood (84) and Sam O'Mahony (40) stood out along with Alistair Taylor's 54.
"Those two young guys from the North-West Coast put together a really good partnership. Sam was playing a different game to normal but was really disciplined and Alex was just outstanding. He's in good form and dominated with the bat.
"It was great to see Alistair score some runs after his hundred at Sheffield and he looked in really good nick."
Raiders now face an extended period at home beginning with a Saturday-Sunday two-dayer against South Hobart Sandy Bay at NTCA No.1.
"Hopefully this weekend we get some decent weather and we can get both sides of our game going well," Coyle said.
"We've got two games in a row in Launceston and that'll be really good for us. We're playing on some good wickets up here and the team loves playing at UTAS.
"These are two important games for us and if we can at least win one, it will leave us in a good state moving into the T20s."
Although available this weekend, Coyle is already planning for life without Evan Gulbis as his experienced all-rounder prepares to return to Carlton in the Victorian premier league.
"It would be nice to have him all season, but we'll deal with it.
"It's part of the Raiders program to have these experienced ex or current first-class players around the team. All the first-class players are in Hobart so we don't have that access but do have a pretty experienced coaching group and Evan's influence having played first-class plus T20 with the Stars. He's a big asset and younger players gravitate to that experience and he's great for them to learn off."
Coyle said Launceston's Dihan Cloete and Mowbray's Ben Spinks are among those who provide bowling cover.
"This is an opportunity for players like that. And we're really seeing young batters step up and hopefully they too can cover for Evan. Charlie Eastoe is a class player and will score runs for us soon and there's an expectation that Alistair Taylor will keep performing well plus the emergence of Wynwood and O'Mahony,
"Cooper Anthes and Spencer Hayes are good young talents that will do well over time so I think we have got things pretty well covered."
Captain Oli Wood is expected to return from a sore back this weekend.
