Emergency services responded to reports about 7pm, where they found one girl on the bank of Campbell Town's Elizabeth River while her friends were trapped in the water.
State Emergency Service volunteers and Police Search and Rescue used a boat to save the stranded swimmers, who were taken to a waiting ambulance.

All three girls were transported to Campbell Town hospital for observations, but none were injured.
Campbell Town Police's Constable Madison Hickman said police thank those volunteers who helped rescue the teenagers. She said without their support the outcome may not have been positive.
Constable Hickman said everyone must be aware of the dangers of flood waters, particularly with more wet weather forecast today.
"While flood waters may appear benign at first glance the risks associated with swimming in them are real and catastrophic if not treated with respect," she said.
"It is not only swimmers that are at risk, all those travelling through flood affected areas should heed road closure signs and give themselves plenty of time to stop in the event of flooded roads".
