After receiving his cap from Mitchell Starc, Ellis went for 30 in his first three overs before pulling it back at the death.
In the final three balls of the innings, the 26-year-old bowled Tigers captain Mahmudullah and had Mustafizur Rahman and Mahedi Hasan caught in the deep to finish with 3-34.
"My number one goal was to not get hit for six pretty much - it was a bloody good catch from Ashton [Agar] out there," Ellis told Cricket Australia.
"I'm not sure how I ended up nearly at third man - I don't know what happened there but it was really cool - all the boys embraced me.
"It was an unreal moment, I'm not going to forget it."
Bangladesh leads the five-game series 3-0.
