Cold and muddy conditions on Sunday couldn't deter food and wine aficionados who descended on the Bridport village green for the annual Tassie Scallop Fiesta.

Now in its fourth year, the fiesta was a celebration of all things food, wine and scallop, attracting business and guests from right across the state.
Festival co-ordinator Leonie Johnston said despite the weather and a few setbacks - including a pair of stubborn plovers - the festival was a great success.
Over 1500 people braved the cold and damp conditions to sample a range of produce on offer from more than 20 vendors, according to Ms Johnston
She said the atmosphere at the festival was amazing - spurred on by a rise in ticket sales on the day.
She said 200 interstate visitors from Victoria and NSW had purchased tickets for the fiesta, but cancelled after outbreaks in each state saw borders closed to the mainland.
However, it was good news for locals as the extra tickets were snapped up by scallop lovers eager to join in the winter festivities.
Ms Johnston said in addition to food and wine the event included music, live presentations from local celebrity chefs and a fashion show from TasTAFE students with the winner taking home a $700 prize.
Despite the challenges Ms Johnston said this year's event was as good as previous festivals and even though some mainland visitors could not attend it showed the fiesta was fast becoming a must-attend event on the winter social calendar.

In the lead up to the event, a pair of plovers nesting on the village green almost derailed the festival, but as fortune had it, several chicks hatched on Tuesday morning which allowed the event to proceed unimpeded.
Ms Johnston said they would have had to fence off the area which was in the middle of the event.
"It was smack bang in the middle of the fiesta. Luckily the babies hatched and the mother decided to move them on so there was no problem with the plovers today," she said.
