Police responded to reports a gun was fired into the front window of a residence on Torquay Road about 6am.
"Police believe this was a targeted incident involving people known to each other and there is no threat to the wider community," police said in a statement.

"The occupant of the residence was inside the property at the time, but was not injured."
Police are seeking information relating to the incident or sightings of a dark blue Commodore in the area around the time.
