Greater disability access for visitors and members of the Swansea RSL has been promised through a $25,000 funding commitment. The sub branch had been applying for grants over the past 12 months without success.

But was recently approached by Liberal member for Lyons John Tucker, and has since been offered more financial support if the party is re-elected.
Swansea RSL secretary Rosanne Coates said the only access to the building's dining room for members and visitors with a disability was through a laneway outside.
The funding would allow the RSL to install a disabled platform lift in the lounge area.

"We have tourists, and local people that come in for dinner, and there are several with wheelchairs, and a few elderly people who finding it difficult going up the stairs as well, this will benefit all of those people," she said.
Mr Tucker said $25,000 in funding would also be provided to St Helens RSL, with plans to install a solar system, which could be completed within a two-week timeframe.
"We want to continue supporting our RSLs across Tasmania and our returned service men and women, and it would be fantastic to see these projects come to fruition," he said.
