Premier Peter Gutwein has held off on adding his voice to Queensland Premier Annastascia Palaszczuk's lobbying the federal government for an extension to JobKeeper.

While Ms Palaszczuk was met with fierce resistance from NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian and the federal government, Premier Gutwein was more measured in his response.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"We'll continue to watch what's occurring but at the moment it's the federal government's decision to step out of JobKeeper at the end of march," he said when asked whether he would lobby the government to extend the payment.
"We're seeing some really positive visitation numbers and now that we've opened up to the country in its entirety as of midnight tonight, I think it's a matter of waiting to see what happens in that sector before we move to provide additional support.
"I've always made the point that we will work with industry sectors who have been affected throughout COVID, and we've done that."
