Tasmania Police is investigating two shots fired at a West Launceston home overnight.

Uniform and CIB police attended the home in Laura Street about 7.30pm and identified two shots were fired at the house.
The shots caused significant damage to the top pane of a front window. There was one occupant at home at the time the shots were fired, but no one was injured.
In other news:
Police said a maroon early model Commodore sedan was seen leaving the scene at speed and in a northerly direction along Connaught Crescent immediately after the incident with two occupants on board.
A full examination of the scene was conducted by Forensics. Northern CIB will continue to investigate the incident on Sunday.
Police are appealing to the public for any information relating to the incident or who may have seen the maroon Commodore shortly afterwards.
