A teenager is dead and a 21-year-old man is in a critical but stable condition in hospital after a car crashed into a tree on the Tasman Highway.

About 7.30am on March 25, a red Holden Cruze was travelling towards Hobart when it crashed into a tree on the side of the highway at Mornington.
The male driver from the eastern shore is in Royal Hobart Hospital undergoing treatment.
Tasmania Police said a 19-year-old Warrane woman who was the front seat passenger, died on Thursday in Royal Hobart Hospital as a result of the crash.
No names have been released at this stage.
