"The 2019 World Fly Fishing Championships will put Tasmania's Central Highlands on show to the rest of the world, with three of five events held across this magnificent region."

It also supports regional jobs by attraction more than 26,000 licensed anglers annually, including more than 5000 from interstate and overseas.
The Tasmanian Inland Recreational Fishery Management Plan 2018-28 outlined measures to increase participation both locally and in tourism markets.
"We are committed to working with local communities and ensuring that all Tasmanians can share in the benefit of a strong economy and tourism boom, and we are on track to achieve our target for 70 per cent of all visitors to stay overnight in regional areas during their trip to Tasmania by 2022," Mr Barnett said.
