The proposal incorporates an outdoor beer garden with seating spaces and an awning structure with fencing surrounding.
The garden would be located at the Boag's Bar on William Street, where the brewery tour leaves from.
A pergola structure, that would be about 17 metres-square, is proposed. It would not be visible from the road and would be made from treated pine and duragal steel posts.
The application, submitted by S. Group on behalf of Boag's, is approved by Heritage Tasmania.

An environmental report showed potentially contaminating activities have not occurred on the site.
"We believe the proposed development satisfies the requirements of the planning scheme as detailed within," the application said.
The development application is open for comment until April 10.
A separate development application is assessing a neighbouring land use. It is proposed a staff car park would be constructed at 29 William Street.
