Tasmania Police is investigating a deliberately lit house fire at Punchbowl on Sunday night.

The Tasmania Fire Service were called to the Punchbowl Road house about 10pm.
A TFS spokesman said the fire was contained to one room, with the damages estimated to be about $5000.
It is understood one person was at home during the fire, but was unharmed.
Punchbowl Road, between Blamey Road and Pyenna Avenue, was closed for about half an hour while the fire was contained.
