Funds raised by the event will go towards CanTeen, which focuses on supporting children and teenagers with cancer.
“It means a lot,” assistant principal Jane Hudson said.
“Over the past eight years we’ve had 240 students participate and it’s just growing each year.”
Losing their locks were 46 pupils, as well grade three teacher Mrs Claire de Boer.
Parents, pupils and faculty attended the assembly to cheer for the kids taking part.
Grade 6 pupil Amali Reedman was excited to completely shave her head to support those in need.
“I like raising money for people who do it and I’d like to help more people,” Amali said.
Trevallyn Primary has run the event for eight years, raising $94,000 for CanTeen.
“I’m so proud of the students, I’m so proud of our community and it is such a valued tradition,” Ms Hudson said.
