A midnight showing on Wednesday night saw plenty of people dressing up in costumes to pay homage to their favourite characters, packing out the cinema to get the first glimpse of Rey’s adventures along the path of the Force.
On Thursday more than 200 tickets were sold to a midday showing alone.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi continues the story of Rey, Finn, and the Skywalker legacy first released in The Force Awakens in 2015.
Eight-year-old Jack Drew, wearing his best Star Wars t-shirt, said he loved The Last Jedi, seeing his favourite character Chewbacca return to the big screen.
Arwen Porter, 13, had her hair done up in the classic Leia hairstyle, as a tribute to actress Carrie Fisher who died in December last year.
She and her sister Myfanwy, 10, said they also enjoyed the film as it followed on from The Force Awakens, excited to see fiery lead character Rey return to the big screen.
