The trophies were both awarded for Sheffield Honey Farm leatherwood honey, which Australian Honey Products marketing director Yeonsoon Bourke said confirmed the company’s claim that Tasmanian leatherwood was one of the best in the world.
“We’re over the moon,” Ms Bourke said.
“Not only did we win the pantry trophy, but we won the best of all products in the show,” she said.
The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria runs the awards annually to celebrate outstanding food produced in Australia.
Later this month owner Lindsay Bourke will head to Turkey for the Apimondia International Apicultural Congress to see if Australian Honey Products’ leatherwood is voted best in the world again.
Mr Bourke won the overall trophy for best honey at the congress two years ago.
