Ms Beaumont will come up against incumbent Liberal member Andrew Nikolic, while Labor has endorsed Launceston lawyer Ross Hart.
Greens convenor Austra Maddox said the party had also preselected transgender rights advocate Martine Delaney for the Southern seat of Franklin.
If elected, Ms Delaney would become Australia's first transgender member of Parliament.
Ms Maddox said the party would focus on confirming a replacement for retiring Greens Senator Christine Milne, before preselecting candidates in Braddon, Lyons and Denison.
"We still haven't made a formal decision in that regard, but that's what I expect will happen," she said.
Nine candidates have put their hand up to replace Senator Milne, including the party's former state leader Nick McKim, Save the Tarkine leader Scott Jordan and lawyer Vanessa Bleyer.
Also in the race are epidemiologist Rosalie Woodruff, Hobart alderman Anna Reynolds and West Coast resident Matthew Ryan-Sykes.
The other three candidates have chosen to remain private, Ms Maddox said. Ms Maddox said the result of the ballot should be known by the end of the month.
