This morning, Liberal Leader Will Hodgman announced ''sensible'' eco-tourism developments in national parks, reserves and World Heritage areas would be fast-tracked through the planning process.
The Liberals would invite seek proposals for sensible, low-impact eco-tourism experiences and associated infrastructure from private investors and tourism operators.
Once assessed, the newly-established Office of the Coordinator General would steer successful projects through the planning process.
Mr Hodgman said the normal planning permits, including environmental approvals would still be required.
''We believe that private investment in our parks and reserves is the best way to preserve and protect them, while giving everyone the chance to enjoy them, and create new jobs.''
