Tasmania's boys entered their semi-final match-up against the Sunshine State side on the back of a six game unbeaten run in the tournament.
The Apple Isle natives continued that form heading in the first term as they took a slender one-point lead to the break.
The Tasmanian trifecta of Lachy Brewer (22 points), Jacob Furphy (17 points) and Kye Savage (20 points) led the way as they worked to overturn Queensland's half-time lead.
The result was a dominant 16-8 third term as they took the ascendancy into the final term.
The pair traded points in the fourth as Tasmania refused to accept defeat and forced overtime with points at the depth from Furphy.
However, Roman Siulepa (29 points) led the Queenslanders through a bruising overtime period to secure their place in the grand final.
In the Tasmania girls' game, they lost their morning fixture to Victoria Country 55-41 with Rubi Gray leading their scoring with 19 points.
In their next classification game against South Australia they went to overtime but tasted defeat 80-65 with Macey Crawford (22 points) leading the way for Tasmania in scoring alongside Zoe Drane's 15-point contribution.

Tasmania's under-18 women's side came away with the goods in their national championships campaign, winning the bronze medal.
Defeating Western Australia Gold 3-2, the Tigers were down 2-1 at the last break but some Maddison Brooks magic and Emma O'Grady's opportunistic goal got the side the win.
Brooks was named player of the tournament, scoring the most goals (eight) in a side that featured Northern Tasmania's Jaimie Duffy and Millie Smith.
