The Launceston Tornadoes have been at the forefront of the NBL1 South for the past two seasons but COVID-19 interruptions saw the campaigns cancelled.
Rather than being deflated coach Sarah Veale said the group was using the past two seasons as motivation.
"I think that's what has motivated them more because we actually realised how good we were and how close we were to winning a championship or could have won it," she said.
The elusive title is the burning ambition for the Tornadoes, especially after their main stars in Froling and Kelsey Griffin re-committed to the club.
"I've said it before and I'll say it until I am blue in the face, coaching is about recruitment and when we can recruit the quality of women that Kelsey and Keely are both on and off the court it just makes things so much easier for us and I am excited they've chosen to come back," Veale said.

Froling put together a record-breaking season last year including getting the record for most points in an NBL1 game (52) and claiming Launceston's most valuable player award.
Despite the 26-year-old's success on-court recently, a Tornadoes' title is the main aim for the Australian representative.
"I think nothing shorter than a championship this year, we've got great talent in the team and a good range of leadership and experience and I think for us that's the number one goal," she said.
"Kelsey [Griffin] is one of my best friends but also a great player and a great leader and I am excited to play with her, [Mariah] Payne was awesome last year so I think she is going to step up again this year."
Veale hinted that there would potentially be further signings before the season kicks off against the Hobart Chargers on April 23.
"We've built on a couple of good seasons now and we have that base so we're already a step ahead of the other teams and hopefully we can get to the championship winning game and win the championship this year," Froling said.
