The Tigers' bowling unit vindicated the choice of Gregg Sharman to bowl as new-ball pair Adam Daniel (1-26) and Yasawi Vallabhaneni (1-14) had Jason Snare (1 off 3) and John Hayes (2 off 23) back in the dressing room.
Shortly after Eagles' skipper Luke Scott's (5 off 47) grinding stay was ended by Inam Ullah (2-25), and in the blink of an eye, Shah was left with a recovery mission with Mowbray reeling at 5-43.
Shah (61 off 114) found a willing partner in Aaron Hughes (25 off 40) as the natural strokemaker played within himself to graft their way to a 74-run partnership to steady the Eagles innings.
"I like to play my shots and get good runs early in the innings and then try to rotate the strike but today, conditions were different, wickets were different so I tried to change that and hang in for as many hours as I can," Shah said post-game.
Dilan Sandagiridoga (3-24) provided the Tigers with a break through when he had Hughes caught by Salman Khan before getting Shah stumped off some fine glovework by Orson Poole. Some late-order hitting boosted Mowbray's tally and meant a chase of 141 was set when Damon Smith and Sandagiridoga went to the wicket.

Smith's trip to the centre needed to be re-routed after Eagles' star James Storay (1-10) had him caught off the first ball of the innings while Sandagiridoga followed soon afterwards. After their horror start, the Tigers never recovered despite Sharman (28 off 35) playing a lone hand.
Shah (4-17) turned from run machine to wicket-taker as he tore through the lower-order while Sameera Vishwaranga (2-12) and Ben Spinks (3-6) impressed to have the Tigers all out at 55.
"Obviously fantastic effort from Ish [Shah] that's one of the better knocks you'll see in local cricket and it put on a match-winning partnership," Scott said.
"Everyone with the ball was fantastic, that's what we spoke about the last couple of weeks and hopefully, that's the kind of cricket we can bring going forward."
South Launceston were enduring mayday as Ben May (3-17) removed the Knights' opening pair of Mackenzie Barker and Sisitha Jayasinghe in a dream start for Ulverstone.

Sean Harris (63 off 81) and Matthew Fulton (66 off 118) settled in as Harris in particular looked comfortable against the Blackcaps attack during their 113-run partnership.
Jacob Snare (2-20) secured the key wickets of Harris and Nathan Philip to halt the Knights' momentum as they were scuttled for 159 at the close of their innings.
However, the game was called off during the change over due to weather as where all other Cricket North fixtures. All TCL fixtures on Saturday were abandoned due to the weather.
Just four balls were bowled in the Cricket Tasmania Premier League men's match between Greater Northern Raiders and Clarence meaning the fixture remains a two-day game for Sunday.

Jono Chapman sent down four deliveries, two of which Zach Elliot let go, one he defended and one he hit to the boundary to have the visitors at 0-4 when the rains came and halted play for the day, to the frustration of all concerned.
"It probably would have been better for the whole competition if they had not been bowled but they were, so we deal with it," said Raiders coach Tim Coyle.
"Everyone gets the maximum chance for points but the ball is in their court because they're in. Maybe they'll set us something to chase to try and make a game of it because they have not played yet so will want some points.
"We'll turn up tomorrow, see what it looks like and take it from there."
