Bass Liberal MHR Bridget Archer says Australia already requires proof of vaccination for a range of reasons - including enrolling children in school - and she expects COVID vaccinations will join that list.

Discussions around vaccinations and border requirements are expected to be undertaken by national cabinet in the coming months, with Western Australia already moving to ban unvaccinated NSW residents from entering.
Ms Archer said that while Australians are entitled to have "freedom of choice" when it comes to COVID vaccinations, this did not mean "freedom from responsibility or consequence".
"We already have digital vaccination certificates, we have the Australian Immunisation Register, that's not a new thing either. People are used to having to present evidence of vaccination if they enrol their kids in school, if they travel overseas," she said.
"It's not a new concept. It's not a new infringement on people's liberties. We just have to have mature conversations about it."
Infectious disease experts have warned that Australia's current Delta outbreak will become a "pandemic of the unvaccinated" - a line also used by US President Joe Biden.
On Tuesday, of the 66 people in intensive care in NSW, 59 were not vaccinated and the remaining seven had received one dose.
Ms Archer is in lockdown in Canberra and has given two negative COVID tests after being present at a casual contact site.
She said it highlighted how Tasmania needed to be vigilant, and how well vaccinations protected the community.
"It's really clear that the best thing people can do to protect themselves and their communities is to get vaccinated as soon as you can," Ms Archer said.
"Tasmania has had good luck and good management, but as we've seen here in the ACT, that can change and people need to remain vigilant about their hand hygiene and checking in. Contact tracing is so important."
