The pair were named in an 18-person squad for next month's series against India which is set to include three ODIs, three T20s and a Test match.
Strano will be hoping her strong form from last season, where she became the first player to reach 100 WBBL wickets, will pay dividends in additional Australian honours, potentially an ODI or Test debut.
Strano shifted to Tasmania in the off-season after being a consistent presence for Victoria in previous years.

Despite making her name in shorter formats, Strano does harbour ambitions for Test selection going forward.
"As a young cricketer, I watched the men's Tests on telly and always had aspirations to own my own Baggy Green one day," she said.
"It'd be a huge honour to play in whites and wear a Baggy Green but I think that's a bit of a far stretch for me at the moment."
Strano, 28, was a late call-up to the squad as an injury replacement for spin sensation Jess Jonassen, who was withdrawn along with fast bowler Megan Schutt and Belinda Vakarewa for the series.
Carey, 27, will be aiming to earn her Test debut after previously representing Australia in the shorter formats.
"I don't expect anything to be honest, I am grateful for any opportunity I get but I haven't played a Test match before," Carey said.
"It'll be an amazing experience to play that against India, we haven't done that in quite some time if at all so that'll be a really cool experience."
Strano has her eyes locked onto a run of limited overs fixtures when the series gets underway.
"I've sort of been in and out of the squad over the last couple of years so to be selected for this tour, the first one of the Australian summer is really exciting," she said.
"Probably the shorter formats are more suited to me, either T20 or 50-over cricket, I've yet to play 50-over cricket for my country so that's a huge goal of mine and I'd love to be able to play.
"I've only played a handful of T20 cricket too so I am somewhat inexperienced in the international scheme of things so if I could sneak a few games this tour I'd be absolutely over the moon."
